Hazrat Ayesha(Razi Allah tala anhu) was the daughter of Hazrat Abu Bakr(Razi Allah tala anh), the closest companion of the Holy Prophet(sal,lal,la,ho,alai,he,wasalam) and the first Khalifa of Islam. Hazrat Ayesha(Razi Allah tala anhu) was married to the Holy Prophet(sal,lal,la,ho,alai,he,wasalam) ten years after he received the first revelation. At the time of the death of the Holy Prophet (sal,lal,la,ho,alai,he,wasalam) , she was twenty-five years old.

Her apartment was chosen as the final resting place of the Holy Prophet(sal,lal,la,ho,alai,he,wasalam) “. Hazrat Ayesha(Razi Allah tala anhu) spent the remaining forty-eight years of her life as a widow, preaching and spreading the message of the Holy Quran and Sunnah. Two years after the death of the Holy Prophet(sal,lal,la,ho,alai,he,wasalam) , Hazrat Abu Bakr(Razi Allah tala anh) died and Hazrat Ayesha(Razi Allah tala anhu) was deprived of parental love also.
Hazrat Umar(Razi Allah tala anh) succeeded Hazrat Abu Bakr(Razi Allah tala anh) as the khalifa. He respected Hazrat Ayesha(Razi Allah tala anhu) very much and took great care of her. He had fixed an annual allowance of ten thousand dirhams for each wife of the Holy Prophet (sal,lal,la,ho,alai,he,wasalam) . In the case of Hazrat Ayesha(Razi Allah tala anhu), the amount was fixed at twelve thousand dirhams as she was very close to the Holy Prophet (sal,lal,la,ho,alai,he,wasalam) .
Hazrat Aisha(Razi Allah tala anhu) is ranked among the prominent companions of the Holy Prophet(sal,lal,la,ho,alai,he,wasalam) . She used to give decisions on religious matters even during the days of the first three khalifas. Hazrat Aisha(Razi Allah tala anhu) not only excelled in knowledge over all the wives of the Holy Prophet(sal,lal,la,ho,alai,he,wasalam) ” and other women but also over the companions of the Holy Prophet(sal,lal,la,ho,alai,he,wasalam) except a few. Many of the Hadis are attributed to her.
Aisha(Razi Allah tala anhu) was a very pious and God-fearing lady. Apart from the five daily prayers, she would offer extra prayers as well. She fasted very often and was particular about pilgrimage. She would often buy slaves in order to free them.
