The Holy Quran
The Holy Quran
The Quran is the Holy book of the Muslims. It is in the Arabic language. Quran is the book of Allah sent to Hazrat Muhammad (sal, lal,la,ho alai,he wasallam) through angel Jibrael(alai his salam). He got the first revelation when he was praying in the cave of Hira. He was forty years old at that time. Allah did not send the whole Quran all at once. It took twenty-three years for the whole Quran to be revealed to the Prophet Muhammad (sal, lal,la,ho alai,he wasallam)”.
The Surahs that were sent to Holy Prophet(sal, lal,la,ho alai,he wasallam)” at Makkah are known as the Makki Surahs. The Surahs that were sent to the Holy Prophet(sal, lal,la,ho alai,he wasallam) at Madinah are known as the Madani Surahs. There has been no change in the Quraan over the last 1400 years. Not a single dot of it has been changed. Nothing has been added to it. Nothing has been taken away from it.
The Quraan has not been changed because Allah protects it. Nothing can change it. Allah says that He has sent it and He shall protect it. The Quraan is the last and final book of guidance for us from Allah. It tells us how to be good and kind to all. It tells us how to behave with our parents, brothers, sisters and friends. We should learn to read the Quraan and understand its meaning. We should also try to obey and follow Allah‘s commands which are given in the Quraan.
